DESCRIPTION:
The Kings Hill Scenic Byway connects Great Falls and White Sulphur Springs through the Little Belt Mountains. Cresting at Kings Hill Pass (7,393 feet), just south of the sister mining cities of Monarch and Neihart, spectacular views abound. Complete the loop through Helena and Great Falls, past Turtle Rock and Gates of the Mountains.
DIRECTIONS:
Starting in Great Falls, travel west on U.S. 89/87. Follow U.S. 89 South at Armington Junction. Continue west on U.S. 12 just south of White Sulphur Springs until you reach Townsend. Travel U.S. 12/287 to Helena and complete the loop to Great Falls via I-15 North.

Make sure you take in the shortcut to Townsend by way of Martindale nice two lane with smooth curves & no traffic compared to heavy tourist traps a beautiful chalet on top of pass before Deep Creek - Good food with excellent chef! Also plenty of raptors to see.

Rather than taking I-15 all the way to Great Falls from Helena, use exit 219 north of the Sieben Ranch and take the Rec / Frontage Rd all the way to Ulm. This is a great ride.

Heading north on I-15 (north of Helena) get off at the Craig, MT exit. Go through Craig and over the Missouri River bridge to the service road, turn left (north). This two lane paved road parallels the Interstate and the Missouri river for about 15 miles or so. You can get back on the interstate in a couple of places the last being Cascade. Awesome diversion, way more relaxing segment when done this way.
