| DESCRIPTION: |
| Some of Montana’s simplest beauty lies in this ride. With 180 miles of shoreline on the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi, a 15-foot plastic cow, and a road winding through countless lakes, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more diverse ride. Whether you want to take in the mountains, camp along a lake shore or just go for a breathtaking drive, this is what Western Montana is all about. |
| DIRECTIONS: |
| Leaving Missoula on U.S. 200 east, wind through the mountains and join U.S. 83 North.
Cruise past countless mountain lakes including Swan Lake, Seeley Lake, Lake Inez and many, many more.
A quick stretch of U.S. 209 connects to MT 35 to the northeast shore of Flathead Lake and the town of Bigfork. Follow MT 35
south to Polson along the east shore of Flathead Lake and the many cherry orchards. Enjoy traveling south of Polson on the Flathead Indian Reservation along with the awe inspiring Mission Mountain Range to the east. Look for the Ninepipe National Wildlife refuge, the St. Ignatius Mission and the National Bison Range . Continue south of Ravalli on U.S. 93 to 1-90 turning east to complete the loop.
Interact with the map for more details.

Lots of deer on the E. portion of this loop; the Swan Valley.
Best not to be traveling this at deer time...evening or early morning.
